Digital Collections Preservation Specialist

As a Digital Collections Project Analyst, you will play a vital role in supporting the Library's involvement in a collaborative project with other institutions to pilot a shared, reusable, and scalable solution for digital preservation, storage, and access for digital collections.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions for managing and preserving digital assets. Your expertise in digital curation and preservation metadata standards will be essential in implementing strategies for preserving digital collections.
Key Responsibilities:
- SUPPORT DIGITAL CURATION TEAM WITH DIGITAL PRESERVATION PROJECTS
- IMPLEMENT PRESERVATION METADATA: IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGIES (PREMIS) METADATA STANDARD FOR DIGITAL COLLECTIONS
- MANAGE BORN-DIGITAL COLLECTIONS AND APPLY KNOWLEDGE OF INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS AND GOOD PRACTICE RELATING TO PRESERVATION OF DIGITAL MATERIALS
Qualifications and Experience
We are seeking candidates with relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in information management and the management of born-digital collections.
Applicants should have applied knowledge of international standards and good practice relating to preservation of digital materials in a library or archive environment, including metadata, file formats, and technical specifications.
Demonstrated experience in using and managing a digital preservation system and other software and hardware tools used in digital preservation activities for ongoing stewardship of born-digital collections is also highly desirable.
