Armoured Officer

As an Armoured Officer with the Australian Defence Force, you will be part of a combat arm with a range of capabilities that can be employed by the Army. Our Armoured Officer units are equipped with advanced vehicles, including the Abrams Main Battle tank and the Australian Light Armoured vehicle, and are trained to participate in direct attack, reconnaissance, and armoured mobility operations.
Key Responsibilities- Command and lead soldiers who operate high-tech weapon systems
- Develop a thorough knowledge of tactics and ability to quickly analyse complex situations
- Conduct independent operations for protracted periods in remote areas and under harsh conditions
As an Armoured Officer, you will undergo six months of Corps-focused training at the School of Armour, Puckapunyal, where you will learn to operate armoured vehicles and develop your leadership and command skills. On completion of this training, you will be posted to troop command positions across the various units of the Corps.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a high standard of leadership and command ability, as well as the ability to work closely with soldiers as part of an armoured fighting vehicle crew. You will also need to be skilled at conducting independent operations and able to work in remote areas and under harsh conditions.
