Upon completing your Officer training, you will have the opportunity to choose from various specializations that align with your interests and skills.

Your responsibilities will involve leading a team of highly skilled soldiers in diverse and challenging environments, tailored to your chosen specialization.

As a Military Leadership Officer, you will face daily physical and mental challenges, pushing you to excel as a leader.

Upon successful completion of your training, you will specialize in one of the following areas:

  • Armoured Officer
  • Artillery Officer
  • Helicopter Pilot
  • Catering Officer
  • Electrical and Mechanical Engineer Officer
  • Engineering Officer
  • Infantry Officer
  • Intelligence Officer
  • Health Officer
  • Military Police Officer
  • Ordnance Officer
  • Signals Officer
  • Transport Officer

Important Note: While your preferences and aptitudes will be considered, allocation to your selected specialization is not guaranteed.

There are two pathways to becoming a Military Leadership Officer:

1. Begin your career at the Royal Military College (RMC), where you will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to lead, mentor, and inspire teams of capable soldiers in any situation.

2. Alternatively, if you prefer to complete a university degree first, you can enroll at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA). This option offers a balanced approach, combining academic studies towards a degree of your choice with military training that prepares you for a successful career in the Army. After graduation, you will attend RMC to finalize your leadership training.

Regardless of whether you start at RMC or ADFA, you will receive exceptional leadership training, earn a salary during your training, and graduate with a stable and promising career path.
