Your MissionThis role is responsible for underwriting review of new account applications within defined SLAs. The review confirms client or partner eligibility. As part of the role, you will also contribute to transaction monitoring within the risk function.
Responsibilities- Complete client and partner application reviews, meeting department SLAs.
- Ensure Know Your Customer (KYC) and related regulatory requirements are met during the underwriting process for compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) policies & Scheme Regulations.
- Correctly interpret and apply card brand network rules to only provide eligible merchant businesses with a processing account.
- Communicate decisions and data needs with sales teams and business partners effectively.
- Participate in periodic review of larger exposure merchant accounts to ensure risk is properly mitigated.
- Monitor fraud alerts and investigate high-risk transactions to determine fraud.
- Implement and adjust fraud detection rules, processes, and systems to improve detection.
- Maintain an understanding of relevant rules and regulations affecting the payments industry.
- Review and improve workflows and processes to find efficiencies.
- Collaborate with other teams to mitigate fraud in their areas of responsibility.
- Tertiary qualification in Business or Finance.
- 1-2 years' experience in Commercial Credit Analyst or similar role in the Financial Services Industry.
- Merchant acquiring and Scheme experience would be beneficial.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong negotiation skills.
- Demonstrable proficiency across the MS Office suite.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
