Rail Operations Support Role

We are seeking a skilled individual to join our rail operations team. This 4-5 month contract opportunity will enable you to utilize your excellent communication skills and intermediate Excel knowledge to support the team.

This role is focused on providing customer support, while also involving responsibility for rail passes and ad hoc duties. Key responsibilities include:

  • Communicating with track access providers, customers, train crew, maintenance providers, and terminal staff to achieve required service delivery
  • Assisting in managing incident and fault reporting
  • Conducting business in a way that meets corporate objectives and customer expectations in a safe and efficient manner

Additional tasks may include:

  • Collating and maintaining KPIs for scheduled services
  • Updating and maintaining asset reports (wagons, containers)
  • Creating weekly train schedules, path amendments, approving, and attaching paths, arrival/departure times
  • Creating weekly fuel logs
  • Booking out confirmation for KPIs
  • Incoming/outgoing consists, wagon rule offs for repairs/trackers etc, wagon returns

Suitable candidates will possess:

  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Computer and keyboard skills
  • Strong customer focus
  • Ability to establish and maintain good business relationships
  • Ability to organize and coordinate activities in an operational environment
  • High level of communication skills
  • Ability to work constructively in a team

This role could appeal to recent graduates or experienced Customer Service executives used to fast-paced, busy, and pressured environments.
