Job Summary:

This is a senior leadership role within our organization, focused on regulatory compliance and change management.

The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of strategies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, while also fostering a culture of regulatory awareness throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of regulatory compliance strategies, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks.

  • Conduct regular assessments of regulatory changes and their impact on the business, providing timely and actionable recommendations for improvement.

  • Represent the business at external forums and working groups, maintaining relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations.

  • Partner with IT and project squads to embed compliance into system design and delivery, ensuring that technology solutions align with regulatory requirements.

  • Perform change impact assessments, collaborate on sequencing and prioritization of the regulatory pipeline, and lead or support change implementation.

  • Champion awareness of regulatory responsibilities, provide subject matter expertise, and coordinate training programs to upskill staff.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in regulatory change, compliance, legal, or risk within the energy industry.
  • Strong understanding of Australian energy regulations and regulatory bodies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading change in complex environments.
  • Excellent analytical skills, ability to assess regulatory impact, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience influencing business leaders and managing competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks, risk management processes, and control design.
