**Sustainable Structures Researcher Opportunity**

About the Project:

This research project offers a unique chance to work on cutting-edge sustainable structures, collaborating with experienced professionals and making a real impact on infrastructure.

We are looking for a motivated researcher with a degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, hands-on experience in material or structural testing, and strong knowledge of mechanics of materials. The ideal candidate will have skills in simulation, theoretical analysis, technical reporting, and clear communication, as well as a collaborative approach and strong interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop next-generation lightweight, bio-inspired structural components with applications in construction and transport.
  • Conduct experimental testing of materials and structures, and analyze the results to inform design decisions.
  • Use computer modeling and simulation to optimize structural performance and efficiency.
  • Prepare clear and detailed technical reports, and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree or Bachelor (Honour) degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with experimental testing of materials and structures.
  • Strong understanding of how materials behave under stress, strain, and deformation.
  • Skills in computer modeling and simulation of structural components.
  • Able to carry out theoretical analysis of deformation mechanisms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.
