The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the entire payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, and policies.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the payroll process to guarantee precision and adherence to regulations.
- Proactively review payroll processes and systems to identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct regular compliance checks, audits, and reconciliations to maintain payroll integrity.
- Offer advice on payroll matters, including entitlements, overpayments, deductions, and award/classification changes.
- Support internal and external audits, while enhancing governance and risk management frameworks.
- Collaborate with various teams to implement process enhancements and support system improvements.
- Essential experience in Ascender Pay or similar platforms.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience delivering payroll services in complex, regulated environments.
- A strong improvement mindset, with proven experience in reviewing processes, solving problems, and implementing efficient ways of working.
- Solid knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments, and payroll compliance requirements.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to generate insights and drive informed decision-making.
- Strong customer focus, accountability, and the confidence to challenge existing practices constructively.
