Senior Intensive Care Unit Pharmacist Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced critical care pharmacy professional to lead the clinical pharmacy services within the Intensive Care Unit.

  • The successful candidate will provide expert guidance and advice to pharmacists and other healthcare professionals providing clinical services in the ICU.
  • They will also lead education and training of clinical pharmacists working in the ICU to facilitate 7 day per week service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert guidance and advice to pharmacists and other healthcare professionals in the ICU.
  • Leading education and training of clinical pharmacists to ensure seamless service delivery across all seven days.
  • Participating in the provision of clinical pharmacy services, including participation on the general roster as required.
  • Leading relevant research and quality use of medicines initiatives, presenting at professional conferences & publishing in relevant journals.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in either Diploma of Hospital Pharmacy, Diploma of Clinical Pharmacy or any other relevant postgraduate qualifications.
  • Current registration as a pharmacist with the relevant authority with no conditions or restrictions on practice.
  • Extensive relevant hospital experience.
  • Advanced-level clinical practice in intensive care pharmacy, including advanced skills and knowledge in critical care pharmacotherapy.
