Senior Manager, Portfolio Delivery

Credit Union Australia is seeking a seasoned Senior Manager, Portfolio Delivery to join the Enterprise Delivery function on a 15-month max-term contract.

The core objective of this role is to oversee the management of a delivery portfolio, ensuring effective resourcing, dependency, and risk management, and fit-for-purpose delivery models to achieve agreed business outcomes.

Additionally, you will leverage your stakeholder relationship management, consulting, negotiation, and facilitation skills at senior levels (Executive and Board) of an organisation to implement business-critical projects with fit-for-purpose project delivery approaches.

This position is open to candidates based in Sydney and Brisbane, offering the flexibility to work from home two days a week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, plan, and manage strategic initiatives within a defined portfolio through to the delivery of new capabilities and realisation of benefits identified in the Business Case.
  • Manage the scope, schedule, cost, risks, issues, and quality of the portfolio.
  • Develop and manage the appropriate resource plan, manage assigned resources.
Leadership:
  • You are accountable for creating a culture of exceptional delivery performance, teamwork, and commitment to excellence that enables the achievement of team and organisational objectives.
  • You lead a shared understanding with other services and areas to enhance communication, strategic alignment, efficiency, and solution generation through the delivery process.
Stakeholder Management:
  • You demonstrate the ability to influence cross-functional teams and build relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Inform the Initiative Sponsor, Owner, and Manager of any Business Case contextual changes.
  • Engage impacted business stakeholders to meet outcomes - external and internal.
Strategic Alignment:
  • Ensure portfolio objectives are aligned with strategic themes and KPIs.
  • Maintain portfolio priorities in alignment with the broader enterprise portfolio.
About You:
  • 10 years' experience as a Program or Portfolio Manager of cross-functional, complex projects.
  • Strong financial industry background is essential.
  • Relevant program management qualification/certification.
  • Proven people management/leadership experience in a matrix project organisation.
  • Experience in management of delivery partners.
  • Agile, MSP, or similarly certified practitioner will be viewed favourably.
