About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Portfolio Analyst to join our Technical Solutions team in Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane office. As part of our new Operating Model, this role will play a key part in shaping the future of our company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the Analytics & Portfolio Management functions within Technical Solutions, focusing on the design and continuous improvement of our Data & Analytics framework, expanding and improving our Portfolio Management framework, and supporting the TS Budgeting and Forecasting processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain data systems, processes, and tools to support our Data & Analytics framework.
  • Develop and implement portfolio management strategies and profit improvement plans using data-driven insights.
  • Support the TS Budgeting and Forecasting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver analytics, MIS, and portfolio management reports and data-driven insights.
  • Develop and implement portfolio optimization strategies and actions plans to drive business growth.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working within a Commercial Lines insurance function, preferably in Australia.
  • Strong knowledge of coding/programming languages such as VBA, SQL, SAS, R, Python.
  • Excellent data visualization skills using tools like PowerBI.
  • Sound knowledge of property, casualty, and financial lines products.
  • Confident and influential communicator with the ability to negotiate with peers and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Judgement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to display sound judgement and make decisive business decisions.
  • Commercial acumen, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Adaptability, with the ability to respond positively to change and actively seek feedback on performance.
  • Critical thinking, with the ability to demonstrate thought leadership and attention to detail.
