Job Opportunity:
We are seeking a seasoned Epidemiologist to join our team in the Communicable Disease Epidemiology and Surveillance division. As a senior professional, you will provide technical support, policy advice, and guidance on epidemiological matters and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer specialist technical support, policy advice, and professional guidance on epidemiological issues and projects
- Provide leadership to epidemiologists and students within the Communicable Disease Epidemiology and Surveillance team
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders related to funded services for Blood-borne viruses/sexually transmissible infections (BBV/STI) program
- Oversee the management of a team of epidemiologists and project staff working in the BBV/STI disease surveillance program
- Coordinate the surveillance and reporting of notifiable diseases caused by viral hepatitis B, C, and D, and sexually transmissible infections including HIV, gonorrhoea, chlamydia, and syphilis
Requirements:
- Postgraduate qualification in epidemiology with relevant expertise
- Substantial experience in communicable disease surveillance and epidemiology
- Leadership and team management skills
