This role plays a critical part in ensuring our embedded software meets internal, regulatory, and customer requirements from early design stages through commercialization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create test plans, write automated and manual test cases, and execute verification tests based on software requirements and specifications
  • Triage defects, log reproduction steps, participate in impact analysis, recommend solutions, and execute regression tests
  • Automate test steps and hardware fixtures using pytest
  • Participate in system end-to-end integration testing between internal and external systems, connected IoT hardware products, and cloud-based databases, applications, and integrations
  • Create software project documentation, including design output specifications, verification plans, test protocols, reports, and other verification deliverables
  • Consider and implement unit and system level tests, create and validate software tools used as part of development and verification
  • Develop and test software tools that aid in development and manufacturing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or equivalent relevant coursework and job-related experience
  • Minimum 3 years in a software test position for embedded systems
  • Ability to write, debug, and review Python for hardware-control libraries and automated tests
  • Python, C/C++, ARM CPUs, Embedded Linux experience
  • Strong understanding of electronics, power optimization, and firmware design
  • Experience with wireless networking test protocols – Cellular, BLE, WiFi
  • Experience using Git, defect tracking in Jira, and participating in Agile with Scrum development process
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including technical writing
