Commissioning Engineer

The role of Commissioning Engineer is pivotal in ensuring the successful energization and grid connection of large-scale solar, wind, and battery systems.

  • Key responsibilities include commissioning HV/LV electrical systems, protection schemes, and controls for renewable generation and storage projects.
  • System testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, and functional checks, are also an essential part of this role.
  • Supporting AEMO compliance processes, such as R1 model reviews and participation in R2 on-site validation testing, requires strong technical expertise.
  • Executing commissioning plans, ITPs, and FAT/SAT procedures to ensure smooth energisation is critical to the success of the project.
  • Collaboration with engineering and construction teams to resolve technical issues during commissioning is also a key aspect of this role.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent trade background is essential for this role.
  • Proven commissioning experience in HV substations, renewable energy assets, or grid-connected plant is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with AEMO R1/R2 testing processes is also advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of protection, SCADA, and control systems is critical to success in this role.
  • Ability to deliver under project deadlines with a safety-first approach is paramount.
