Airframe and power plant specialists are responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft systems, including complex structures, engines, and components. The job requires a deep understanding of airframe and power plant systems, as well as technical expertise in troubleshooting and repairing equipment malfunctions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Technical Knowledge: A comprehensive knowledge of airframe and power plant systems is essential for this role. This includes understanding the principles of mechanics, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fuel systems.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Aircraft repair specialists must be able to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions using technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
- Blueprint Reading: The ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical drawings is crucial for this role.
- Communication: Effective communication skills are necessary for working with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, diagnosing problems, repair procedures, and replacement of parts. They will also possess a basic knowledge of electrical theory and a detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
