About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Allied Health Assistant to join our team at Plena Healthcare in Ballarat. As an Allied Health Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality clinical services to our clients in Residential Aged Care settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physiotherapists and occupational therapists in delivering clinical services to clients, ensuring a consistently high standard of care.
  • Service RAC clients in accordance with treatment plans, under the direction of physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
  • Transport clients to and from therapy sessions, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Set up and pack away therapy equipment, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Collect referrals and perform administrative tasks as guided by physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
  • Order prescribed equipment and supplies, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Run exercise groups and programs, promoting client engagement and participation.
  • Support initiatives to meet client and contract expectations, working collaboratively with the team.
  • Consult with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to adapt treatment plans, ensuring client progress and satisfaction.
  • Participate in mentoring, supervision, and appraisals, aligning with Plena Healthcare's policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum Cert III Allied Health Assistant or equivalent qualification.
  • Australian working rights, with willingness to obtain NDIS worker screening and National Police Check.
  • Healthcare knowledge and experience, with ability to independently deliver treatment plans.
  • Strong time management and accountability skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Clinical knowledge and skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and management.
  • Driver's license and reliable vehicle, with ability to transport clients safely.
