We are seeking a motivated Welfare Officer to join our team in Townsville. This role is designed for an individual who is passionate about working with young people and developing their skillset in the youth and community services space.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Assistant Welfare Officer and Head of School to support the wellbeing and welfare needs of our students. The welfare team provides opportunities for professional development and learning, allowing this role to be a stepping stone for growth within Indie and the broader community.

\Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to monitor and support the holistic wellbeing and welfare needs of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement structured welfare programs.
  • Knowledge of safe practices and ability to educate students on how to seek further assistance and guidance.

Desirable qualifications include a degree in social work, psychology or a related field.
