Emergency Response Specialist

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the community. As an emergency response specialist, you will be part of a team that responds to emergency incidents, promotes community safety, and participates in regular drills and training courses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents as a member of a team
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through community education activities
  • Develop and maintain competencies through regular drills and training courses
  • Maintain attendance standards for emergency incidents and training
  • Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively

The QFES expects that all emergency response specialists will commit to the following throughout their employment: attending incident and emergency calls, attending regular drill and training sessions, obtaining an MRV licence, participating in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs, and complying with policies and procedures.
