Energy Efficiency and Finance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team as an Energy Efficiency and Finance Professional.

This role demands technical authority of a certified home energy efficiency assessor combined with commercial acumen of a finance professional.

The successful candidate will be responsible for serving as the critical interface between our clients, assessors, and upgrade implementation pathways.

This role is defined by its dual mastery requirement:

• Energy Efficiency Expertise — assessor-level technical knowledge, including thermal performance modelling, appliance standards, upgrade pathways, and regulatory compliance.
• Financial Acumen — ability to structure, advise on, and deliver finance solutions that align with client needs, lender requirements, and government programs.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of residential energy performance, Scorecard outcomes, NatHERS principles, and VEU program requirements. They will also have direct experience in financial services, lending, or equipment finance, with the ability to structure, explain, and implement finance solutions.

The selected candidate will serve as the central liaison between clients and assessors, ensuring all technical queries are answered with assessor-level authority.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

1. Act as authoritative source of information for clients across residential energy efficiency, appliance performance, and upgrade pathways.
2. Confidently interpret and explain Scorecard outcomes, NatHERS principles, and thermal performance data.
3. Provide informed guidance on heating/cooling, solar PV, batteries, hot water, induction cooking, insulation, draft-proofing, and emerging best-practice electrification solutions.
4. Navigate government programs and regulatory frameworks (Victorian Energy Upgrades, rebates, compliance requirements) with precision.
5. Advise clients on full spectrum of financial solutions enabling energy efficiency projects, including loan structures, equipment finance, green loans, and asset leasing.
6. Analyse client needs and align them with tailored finance pathways, ensuring compliance with lender requirements and consumer protections.
7. Maintain current and sophisticated understanding of lending landscape across residential and small business sectors.
8. Serve as central liaison between clients and assessors, ensuring all technical queries are answered with assessor-level authority.
9. Translate complex assessments into actionable projects by integrating technical recommendations with financing solutions.
10. Build and maintain strong client relationships that support both technical credibility and commercial outcomes.
11. Drive customer acquisition for finance products by identifying, qualifying, and converting prospects into active clients.
12. Leverage technical knowledge of energy efficiency upgrades to position financing solutions as integral to project delivery.
13. Achieve growth targets for finance originations while ensuring compliance with lender requirements and regulatory obligations.
14. Identify and pursue opportunities for cross-selling and service integration across organisation.
15. Contribute to development of customer engagement frameworks, sales strategies, and process optimisation.
16. Deliver on KPIs relating to client engagement, finance conversion, and project outcomes, while ensuring quality standards and compliance are upheld.

The following skills and qualifications are mandatory:

• Certificate IV in Home Energy Efficiency & Sustainability AND Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking OR minimum 5+ years of directly relevant experience.
• Deep technical knowledge of residential energy performance, Scorecard outcomes, NatHERS principles, and VEU program requirements.
• DIRECT EXPERIENCE IN FINANCIAL SERVICES, LENDING OR EQUIPMENT FINANCE, WITH ABILITY TO STRUCTURE, EXPLAIN AND IMPLEMENT FINANCE SOLUTIONS.
• Proven ability to communicate highly technical concepts and financial products with clarity and authority.
• Exceptional professional communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
