Position Overview

We are on the lookout for enthusiastic and motivated individuals eager to advance their careers in the role of Café or Restaurant Supervisor.

This opportunity spans various locations across regional Australia, excluding major cities.

As our next Café or Restaurant Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering passionate, knowledgeable, and friendly service to both external and internal guests consistently.
  • Ensuring that all team members provide seamless and efficient food and beverage service, anticipating guest needs proactively.
  • Overseeing team member task allocation, ensuring a fair rotation of duties to enhance productivity.
  • Conducting pre-service and post-service briefings as necessary.
  • Assisting the Head of Department in providing comprehensive inductions and ongoing training for all team members.
  • Supporting the Head of Department in developing training plans and facilitating on-the-job training sessions.
  • Participating in the Performance Development Appraisals of team members when required.
  • Maintaining inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Monitoring staff schedules in line with legislation and business requirements, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and adherence to budget guidelines.
  • Understanding all relevant licensing and operational legislation impacting the department, including the Liquor Act.
  • Completing daily operational reports to maintain accurate records for future reference.
  • Ensuring food quality standards are consistently met and providing feedback to the Chef regarding sales, waste, menu adjustments, or special requests.
  • Establishing and nurturing open communication channels among all departments, particularly with the kitchen, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensuring the department is always prepared for service at scheduled times.
  • Reconciling daily financial transactions.
  • Ensuring team members possess thorough knowledge of menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
  • Ensuring team members are well-versed in the wine offerings available.
  • Ensuring all opening and closing procedures are executed to a high standard.
  • Promptly reporting any maintenance needs in the vicinity of the outlet to the Head of Department.
  • Assisting guests with inquiries and complaints, providing accurate information about property facilities and features.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a current RSA is essential.
  • A strong understanding of daily restaurant operations.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for every guest.
  • A team player who also exhibits strong leadership qualities.
Additional Information

The base hourly rate is $27.83, which equates to an annual salary of $54,000 - $65,000, subject to applicable working days and penalties as per the Hospitality Industry General Award.
