Job DescriptionWe are seeking a passionate and driven individual to fill the role of Cafe or Restaurant Supervisor. This position is available in regional Australian locations outside of Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional service to guests, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience.
- Lead a team of staff, ensuring smooth and efficient food and beverage service, anticipating guest needs and exceeding expectations.
- Assign tasks and duties to team members, promoting rotation and maximizing productivity.
- Conduct pre-service and post-service briefings, ensuring team members are informed and prepared.
- Support the Head of Department in training and developing team members, including induction, ongoing training, and performance development appraisals.
- Maintain par levels, order stock, and monitor rosters to ensure the department is staffed appropriately and operating within budgetary guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with licensing and operating legislation, including the Liquor Act.
- Complete operational reports, providing a clear record of department history for future forecasting.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure a consistent standard of food quality and presentation.
- Establish and maintain open communication channels between departments, ensuring the smooth operation of the department.
- Ensure the department is consistently ready for service at scheduled operating times.
- Perform daily takings reconciliation and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure team members have strong product knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Ensure team members have strong product knowledge of wine styles and menu offerings.
- Adhere to opening and closing procedures, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
- Report maintenance needs to the Head of Department and assist guests with inquiries and complaints.
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification is essential.
- Strong understanding of day-to-day restaurant operations and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, with a strong focus on sequence of service and customer satisfaction.
- Well-rounded leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
Base hourly rate: $27.83, equivalent to $54, $65,000 based on working days and penalties applicable as per the Hospitality Industry General Award.
