Job Description

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the policy and legislation sector. As a Strategic Policy Coordinator, you will be working on developing and protecting Australians in need of support.

The team is responsible for policies and programs relating to children and young people by working on the department's response to an important royal commission. Your key focus will be providing support to the team and unit, coordinating requests for information from various stakeholders.

Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Taking ownership of work activities to maintain progress and deliver on tight timeframes
  • Preparing a range of documents including minutes, briefings, and correspondence
  • Supporting the broader team in delivering branch priorities

Effective communication skills, ability to foster professional relationships, and build rapport and trust are essential for this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this position, you will have:

  • Previous experience with PDMS
  • Excellent research, analysis, and project management skills
  • Experience working in a coordination area
  • Able to multitask and work to deadlines in a dynamic team environment

You must also be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
