The Payroll Team Lead is responsible for driving operational excellence and innovation in the payroll function.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing payroll team to foster a collaborative culture.
- Support onboarding and training of new team members to ensure seamless integration.
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, awards, and tax obligations through thorough review and approval of payroll runs, reconciliations, and reports.
- Support year-end payroll processes and maintain quality assurance by staying current with regulatory changes.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
- Leadership style: flexible, engaging, transparent, open/honest, and adaptable.
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with payroll systems and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Flexible work arrangements - 4 days WFH, 1 day in office.
