Database Reliability Expert

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Data Services team. As a Database Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the high availability and performance of our database systems.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data components, including Cassandra, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, ZooKeeper, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. They will operate and automate properly configured clusters, develop infrastructure services to support a full DevOps model, work closely with Engineering and Customer Support to troubleshoot production issues, and keep petabytes of critical business data safe, secure, and available.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a deep understanding of data components.
  • Operate and automate properly configured clusters.

Requirements:
  • Configuration management (Chef).
  • Scripting in Python and Bash.
  • Experience with large-scale datastores using technologies like Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka, ZooKeeper, and MySQL.
  • Experience with large-scale, business-critical Linux environments.
  • Experience operating within the cloud, preferably Amazon Web Services, GCP, and OCI.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with both local and remote teams.
  • Track record of making great decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A combination of confidence and independence.
  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
