Freight Operations Trainee

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Freight Operations Trainee to join our team. As a key member of our logistics operations, you will work closely with our experienced freight operations team to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in the transport and logistics industry.

This traineeship provides a unique opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and gain valuable knowledge and skills in freight management, logistics, and supply chain operations. You will be responsible for efficiently handling and receiving freight, ensuring accurate loading, unloading, and securing of various freight sizes.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also have a strong attention to detail, with a focus on safety protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently handle and receive freight, ensuring accurate loading, unloading, and securing of various freight sizes.
  • Use ratchet straps, chains, and binders to secure freight safely and prevent transit damage.
  • Maintain organised records of shipments, including accurate completion of manifests and delivery receipts.
  • Monitor inventory levels, assisting with stock checks and inventory control.
  • Follow safety protocols rigorously, with a focus on the proper handling and securing of goods.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams for smooth logistics operations.

Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license and own vehicle (or stable transport to get to work).
  • Self-motivated and a team player.
  • Willingness to undertake a 12-24 month traineeship.
