Job Title: Fitness and Wellness Officer

Location: Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre

Job Type: Casual

Salary: $31.83 per hour, plus casual loading and superannuation

About the Role:

We are seeking an energetic and passionate Fitness and Wellness Officer to join our team at the Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre. As a Fitness and Wellness Officer, you will be responsible for conducting health and wellbeing screenings and evaluations of members, designing safe and effective exercise programs, and providing instruction and guidance to members on the gym floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct health and wellbeing screenings and evaluations of members
  • Design safe and effective exercise programs
  • Conduct program demonstrations and instruct members in correct exercise technique on the gym floor
  • Respond to questions and minor problems that arise day-to-day on the gym floor and in a one-on-one environment
  • Maintain the gym area in a clean and tidy fashion throughout each shift
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety policy and procedures

Requirements:

  • Experience working within a similar role in the fitness industry delivering health assessments and programming
  • Certificate III in Fitness (essential)
  • Certificate IV in Fitness (preferred)
  • Current Level 2 First Aid and CPR
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Be proactive and motivated to succeed
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and monitor adherence to health and safety policies and procedures within a team environment
  • National Police Check
  • Flexibility to work across a seven (7) day roster
