Health Specialist Role Overview

This is a pivotal role within our Health and Safety team, where you will be responsible for providing expert guidance on complex health issues and workers compensation claims.

You will play a key stakeholder role in driving the implementation of business strategies to manage psychosocial risks in the workplace. This includes overseeing a team of Injury Management Advisors and contributing to the development of policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive business approach and strategy towards management of Workers Compensation Claims
  • Implement and maintain health & fitness for work systems that meet legislative requirements
  • Undertake key stakeholder role in developing and implementing business strategy for managing exposure to psychosocial risks
  • Evaluate trends, provide analysis of soft tissue injuries, and develop action plans to mitigate risk
  • Ensure appropriate health monitoring programs are in place as outlined in relevant legislation
  • Provide oversight and guidance on management of salary continuance claims
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, exercise Physiology or other relevant medical services field
  • Extensive experience in health and injury management, preferably in mining or closely related industry
  • Detailed knowledge of Health, Compensation and Injury Management Acts, legislations and standards
  • Demonstrated exposure to complex workers compensation claim management
  • Experience conducting work aligned to management of Psychosocial risks
