Your Next Career Opportunity –The Senior/ Associate Principal Environmental Approvals Consultant will play a pivotal role in providing expertise, leadership, and strategic insight in the water and environmental sector. This position involves business development and promotional activities to enhance our operations. The consultant will serve as a Project Manager and/or technical authority, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver top-tier environmental projects, focusing on environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:- Exhibit expertise in environmental investigations, assessments, planning, and approvals.
- Offer strategic and regulatory environmental guidance to clients across diverse sectors, particularly in coastal and maritime infrastructure.
- Enhance existing client relationships and cultivate new ones to advance the APAC environmental business.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the national BMT environmental team.
- Engage with potential and current clients to generate work, deliver services, and foster business growth.
- Conduct high-quality technical work with a high degree of independence and sound judgement.
- Act as a technical expert in environmental approvals, assessments, and project management.
- Advise management and project teams on technical and business matters.
- Oversee and evaluate the work of external consultants and team members.
- Share knowledge and mentor colleagues within their area of expertise.
- Prepare, review, and submit proposals and tenders.
- Manage a variety of projects, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, budget, and quality standards.
- Contribute to thought leadership by authoring papers, presenting at seminars and conferences, and engaging in relevant discussions.
- Perform specific technical tasks, including environmental policy development, stakeholder identification, regulatory approvals, impact assessments, and environmental planning and auditing.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 7 years of relevant post-graduate experience.
- Proven experience with state and/or federal environmental approval processes.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new environmental approval frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting environmental assessments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technical foundation in environmental consulting.
- Proven business development capabilities.
- Experience in a multi-site organizational environment.
- Background in the engineering or resource sectors.
- Post-graduate qualifications in environmental management or a related discipline.
- Established client network in environmental policy, assessment, and approvals.
