Environmental Planning and Approvals Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Planning and Approvals Specialist to join our NSW Planning and Environmental Approvals team at Jacobs.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for a seasoned environmental professional looking to take on a lead role in the delivery of environmental planning, impact assessment, and regulatory approvals for significant projects across the renewables, energy storage, transport, and water sectors.

As an Environmental Planning and Approvals Specialist, you will work closely with our team of experienced professionals and early career consultants to develop your consulting, project management, and technical skills through delivering a range of environmental consulting projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and managing environmental studies and surveys
  • Preparing high-quality environmental approvals documentation and environmental management plans
  • Working with clients to prepare environmental constraints reports, scoping documents, review of environmental factors, environmental impact assessments, and statutory planning submissions

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an enthusiastic and values-driven individual with:

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in environmental science, environmental planning, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years' experience in environmental planning, impact assessment, and approvals
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of New South Wales and Commonwealth environmental planning legislation
