Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled medical professional to join our team as a Staff Specialist in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine. This is a temporary 0.6FTE position that will last for 12 months.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing clinical management and treatment of patients in a South Western Sydney Local Health District facility under your care. You will also deliver medical leadership for the inpatient multidisciplinary team, specialist outpatient clinic services, and supervise trainees and students.

  • Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care and management in accordance with contemporary evidence-based best practice.
  • Deliver expert clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff to support their growth and development.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Medical Registration: Current medical practitioner registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Professional Expertise: Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence-based best practice.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
  • Tertiary Education: Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
