Data Engineering Lead for a Leading Australian Mortgage Broker

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Sydney. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and optimising our data pipelines, build practices and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
This is a 6-month max-term contract with the potential to transition into a permanent role upon completion of the contract. We offer a highly flexible hybrid structure to suit your individual needs, allowing you to balance work and personal life effectively.
About the Role- The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining modern data pipelines using cloud-based technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and Terraform.
- You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions, ensuring seamless integration with business requirements.
- The ideal candidate should have expertise in SQL, programming languages like Python, and experience with ETL tools and processes.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering with modern development practices.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modelling techniques.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and collaboration skills.
- We offer extended Paid Parental Leave: up to 26 weeks for primary carers and up to 4 weeks for secondary carers.
- An additional week's Loyalty Leave each year after reaching 3 years' service.
- A competitive salary of around AU$140,000 - AU$160,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus superannuation and other benefits.
