Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Sydney-based team. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and optimizing our data pipelines, build practices, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.

This is a 6-month maximum-term contract with the potential to transition into a permanent role upon completion of the contract. We offer flexible remote working arrangements, extended paid parental leave, loyalty leave, and a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Development: Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines using modern data stack technologies in a rapid, agile development environment.
  • Data Governance: Ensure compliance with data governance policies and procedures, monitoring data quality and addressing any issues related to data completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions, providing input to solution design and technical support of pipelines.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data engineering solutions, data models, and processes, contributing to design guides and training materials as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of data engineering experience with modern development practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake) and experience with ETL tools and processes.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python.
  • A strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling techniques.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Estimated Salary Range: AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum
