Job Title: Construction Category Management Professional

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Construction Category Management Professional.

The successful candidate will have relevant experience in a similar role, with strong supplier relationship management and risk mitigation skills to optimise procurement outcomes and maximise business opportunities.

This is a mid-senior level temporary position that requires the ability to maintain thorough documentation of procurement processes and contractual arrangements which is critical to ensuring transparency, accountability, and adherence to audit and compliance standards.

  • This role partners with stakeholders in a category/range of categories to plan, develop, source and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet organisational and business objectives.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of category management plans and sourcing strategies that ensure value for money while meeting stakeholder expectations.
  • Analysing business needs, commercial risks, and supply markets to inform procurement decisions, leading sourcing activities across various categories, and establishing effective supply arrangements.
  • Providing governance, advice and guidance to internal stakeholders to build expertise in procurement and procurement categories across the organisation.
  • Developing and administering contract management plans, negotiating changes and modifications, supplier performance management and compliance requirements by developing effective supplier relationships to enhance category outcomes.
  • Planning and leading contract negotiations in the establishment and review of supply arrangements to deliver value for money procurement outcomes in specific categories.
  • Identifying, managing and mitigating procurement risks to enable the organisation to meet its obligations and maximise business opportunities.
  • Documenting procurement processes, decisions and contractual arrangements to provide an audit trail for probity and audit purposes.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong supplier relationship management and risk mitigation skills to optimise procurement outcomes and maximise business opportunities.
  • Ability to maintain thorough documentation of procurement processes and contractual arrangements which is critical to ensuring transparency, accountability, and adherence to audit and compliance standards.
