Job Opportunity: Teacher - Education Support

This role is focused on providing education support to students with complex needs, including Intellectual Disability, multiple physical disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Trauma. The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting students with co-morbid diagnoses and complex communication needs.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for developing, implementing, and reviewing Individual Education Plans that cater to the unique needs of each student. This includes creating a supportive environment where student success is celebrated and promoting social-emotional skills, life skills, and Protective Behaviours curriculum.

Suitable applicants should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling them to collaborate with staff to create and maintain an inclusive education program. Emphasis is placed on acquiring a range of social and interpersonal skills to enable our students to interact successfully with their community.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A teaching qualification and registration are essential.
  • Applicants should have specialist knowledge and skills related to students with complex needs.
  • Experience in supporting students with co-morbid diagnoses and complex communication needs is highly desirable.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  1. Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
  2. Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  3. Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before starting.
  4. Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department's Screening Unit before starting.
