**Job Opportunity in Geriatrics Medicine**

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Specialist in Geriatrics to join our team on a part-time basis (0.63 FTE). This exciting opportunity will provide the chance to work with a dedicated team of clinicians who share a vision of preventing avoidable presentations, admissions, and readmissions to hospital.

The Community Older Person's Intervention and Liaison Team (COPILOT) delivers urgent medical, nursing, and allied health assessments and interventions for non-life-threatening conditions. This position is based in the community and offers strong support from a medical Head of Department, a Team leader, and a multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience working with geriatric patients and possess excellent communication, relationship-building, and decision-making skills. The role involves providing clinical management and treatment of patients in the community or a facility under your care, within the granted clinical privileges.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide clinical management and treatment of patients in the community or a facility under your care, within the granted clinical privileges.
  • Contribute to the delivery of safe and high-quality health services, aligning with our organisational vision.

 

**Requirements:**

  • Current medical practitioner registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in the specialty of Geriatrics.
  • Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard, with the ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence-based best practice in acute community geriatric medicine.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/continuing professional development.
