Science Laboratory Technician Position

At our institution, we are seeking a highly skilled Science Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team in the Science Faculty. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of high-quality research and teaching programs.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting Research Activities: Assist with the preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and materials, ensuring that all necessary safety protocols are adhered to at all times.
  • Maintenance of Equipment: Perform routine maintenance tasks on laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend its lifespan.
  • Provision of Training and Support: Collaborate with academic staff to develop and deliver training programs for students and other stakeholders.
  • Other Duties: Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to support the efficient operation of the laboratory.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
