This role is crucial in supporting clinical, administrative, and research activities of the Community Rehab Alliance at the Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health.
About the RoleThe Indigenous Allied Health Officer plays a vital role in providing cultural brokerage, enhancing cultural awareness, and mentoring staff and students to improve access to high-quality rehabilitation services for First Nations participants.
- Providing cultural support, enhancing cultural awareness, and mentoring staff and students to improve access to high-quality rehabilitation services.
- Assisting participants in navigating health and disability services, maintaining clinical areas, and supporting research initiatives involving First Nations Peoples.
- Experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, cultural brokerage, and mentorship.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Relevant qualifications (health or community-related degree, Aboriginal Health Worker, or Allied Health Assistant Cert IV) are desirable.
- Current Queensland C class driver's license is desirable.
