Job Overview

The primary role of a FIFO Labourer/Sampler involves performing general labouring duties, including pre-start inspections on machinery, maintaining tooling, and monitoring fuel and oil levels.

Key responsibilities include assisting with bore construction, setting up ancillary equipment, and developing mud pits and sumps. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing drilling and consumable sharpening and handling, operating and administering water/fuel to drill rigs via support truck, and assisting the driller and any maintenance personnel in servicing and repairs to equipment.

  • Job Duties:
  • Perform general labouring/sampler duties
  • Carry out pre-start inspections on all machinery prior to use
  • Ensure that all tooling is maintained and returned to its rightful location when not in use
  • Take care of all plant and equipment provided and report all damage
  • Monitor fuel and oil levels while the drill is in operation
  • Assist with bore construction
  • Assist in monitoring of drilling equipment while drill is in operation
  • Assist with setting up of ancillary equipment
  • Assist with the development of mud pits and sumps
  • Drill and consumable sharpening and handling
  • Operate and administer water/fuel to drill rigs via support truck
  • Assist the driller and any maintenance personnel in servicing and repairs to equipment
  • Assist in camp duties such as cooking, cleaning etc.
  • Assist Site Administrators and Project Manager in general administration
  • Drive trucks and operate LV's on site. Transport other personnel around site. Move plant, equipment and consumables around site
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Clean and organise work areas
Key Criteria
  • Must be Indigenous Australian living in Perth, Western Australia
  • Must have a current automatic or manual licence with no restrictions (HR licence highly desirable)
  • Labor experience in civil, construction or mining (highly desirable)
  • Experience in FIFO (highly desirable)
  • Willingness to complete pre-employment medical, laboratory drug & alcohol test as well as police check prior to employment
