Why This Role Matters

The Salvation Army Melbourne Project 614 program consists of a team of staff and volunteers based in the City of Melbourne. The program provides crisis support and intervention, information, practical assistance, and ongoing support for people in crisis. The Twilight Café's primary purpose is building relationships and addressing social inclusion. We cater to a diverse range of individuals, including those experiencing drug and alcohol addictions, mental health and general health issues, homelessness, asylum seekers, and international students.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term, full-time position (5 nights a week, Mon - Fri, 2.30pm-10pm) based in Melbourne, VIC. The salary for this role is approximately $67,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.

Your Responsibilities
  • Oversee and support the Twilight Cafe Workers in Cafe operations and the Twilight Outreach Workers in their outreach work in the CBD.
  • Provide front-of-house assistance to Cafe attendees.
  • Support volunteers in service delivery.
  • E nsure cleanliness of facilities, including back and front of house and bathroom and laundry areas.
Your Qualifications and Experience
  • A tertiary qualification in community services/social work and/or related disciplines.
  • A current and valid employee Victorian Working with Children Check.
  • Experience within community services is desirable.
  • Experience working with complex client groups is desirable.
