Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Specialist to join our team on a high-end apartment project in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.

About the Role
  • This is an intermediate to senior-level position responsible for overseeing all commercial activities, including contract administration and management of subcontractors.
  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the multi-residential sector in Australia, with a strong network of local subcontractors and understanding of rates.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administer contracts, including head/subcontracts, and maintain accurate records.
  • Set up and manage the Project Letting Schedule, ensuring timely and efficient execution of projects.
  • Prepare subcontractor packages, scopes, and schedules, as well as review and evaluate tender submissions.
  • Assist with progress claims and external variations, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Manage and track project expenditure, including subcontractor claims, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Administer requests for information (RFIs) to architects, consultants, and clients, maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the Project Manager in meeting all project requirements, ensuring seamless collaboration and delivery.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or equivalent, with proven experience as a Contract Administrator in the multi-residential sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, with ability to learn new software systems quickly.
