Commercial Contract Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Contract Specialist to join our Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance project.
This is an exciting opportunity to support the Project Delivery Team's commercial and financial resources, meeting requirements and working closely with package owners and engineers to manage procurement, cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Support procurement activities in accordance with construction program requirements, sharing information and experiences to inform procurement decision-making.
- Certify and process subcontractor claims in line with timing requirements, compiling and processing documentation as needed.
- Ensure all contractual terms are understood by the project team and subcontracts are managed accordingly, from contract execution to final close-out.
- Conduct post-contract reviews and report on recommendations and corrective actions.
- Assist in ensuring timely completion of (commitments, costs to date, accruals, estimates to complete, and risk/opportunity information) for cost code/control account owners, working closely with Section Project Controls Manager to manage PRISM inputs and outputs.
- Identify trends in forecast costs and propose measures to remedy budget overruns.
- Collaborate with key EBTA personnel to understand and manage key risks and opportunities related to Section delivery.
- Compile the monthly contract review pack and present it with the Section Director at monthly Alliance contract/project reviews.
- Hold a working knowledge of bonds, guarantees, warranties, insurances, letters of intent, and other common contractual mechanisms.
- Be able to manage the recording and submission of claims for delay and loss/expenses, formulating detailed arguments and making presentations as needed.
- Able to ensure accurate project records are maintained, updated, and recorded to support reports, variations, and claims (e.g., contract and risk registers, site diaries).
- Understand programs and their importance, using them to give notices and create reports for internal and external use.
- Able to manage the recording and submission of claims for extensions of time and/or loss and expense, formulating detailed arguments and making presentations as needed.
