About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced emergency response trainer to lead our training programs. With over 35 years of experience in firefighting services, we have established ourselves as a leader in the industry.

The successful candidate will design, develop, and deliver emergency response training programs that focus on contractual requirements. They will work closely with the team to develop departmental-specific curriculum guidelines aligned with national legislation, best practices, and program implementation.

They will also support the development of assessment tools to ensure proper systems, governance, and processes are in place for ongoing skills and competency maintenance. Additionally, they will contribute to the creation of methods and assessment tools for recognizing prior learning and their application criteria.

The ideal candidate will have a background in firefighting and first aid, as well as experience in training and people management. A valid Driver's License and defence baseline security clearance are required. Australian citizenship is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deliver emergency response training programs
  • Develop departmental-specific curriculum guidelines
  • Support the development of assessment tools
  • Create methods and assessment tools for recognizing prior learning
  • Contribute to the development of training curriculum, learning guides, and assessment procedures
  • Oversee the Fire Development Program
  • Facilitate succession planning
  • Coordinate and deliver formal training
  • Support Fire Crews with planning and conducting team training activities

Requirements:

  • Background in firefighting and first aid
  • Evidence matrix of skills and competencies supporting firefighting background
  • Familiarity with emergency services and operational excellence practices
  • Experience in training and people management
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Defence baseline security clearance
