Emergency Response Trainer Position

Ventia, a leading provider of infrastructure services in Australia and New Zealand, has over 35 years of experience working with Defence and delivering Firefighting Services.

The company is currently seeking an experienced Emergency Response Trainer to join the Fire and Rescue operations. The ideal candidate will have a background in firefighting and first aid capability, as well as experience in training and people management.

  • Create, develop, and deliver emergency response training programs focusing on contractual requirements.
  • Develop departmental-specific curriculum guidelines consistent with national legislation, best practices, and program implementation.
  • Support the development of assessment tools to ensure ongoing skills and competency maintenance.
  • Develop methods and assessment tools for prior learning recognition and application criteria.
  • Contribute at a state and national level to the development of training curriculum, learning guides, and assessment procedures for emergency response topics.
  • Oversee the Fire Development Program and facilitate succession planning for fire management needs.
  • Coordinate and deliver formal training across various locations in Australia.
  • Support Fire Crews with team training activities in line with emergency scenarios and drills.
  • Support the training team with qualification mapping and verification through the LMS system.
  • Monitor compliance with operational and emergency procedures documents.

To be successful, the incumbent must hold minimum qualifications including a Diploma of Public Safety (Emergency Management), Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations), and valid driver's license.
