About VLI Australia:

VLI Australia is a specialist in materials handling and mining services, boasting over 30 years of experience in the resources sector. We are currently looking for skilled Conveyor Technicians, Belt Splicers, and Rubber Liners to enhance our operations.

Role Overview:

The selected candidates will be tasked with ensuring the safe and efficient execution of service-related activities. This includes conducting conveyor inspections, performing repairs and overhauls, and installing conveyor belt cleaning components. The positions require flexibility to work in a 24/7 breakdown environment, with potential travel to various customer sites, including weekend and night shifts as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and maintenance of conveyor systems.
  • Execute repairs and overhauls in a timely manner.
  • Install and service conveyor belt cleaning components.
  • Perform roller and skirt change-outs as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety (WH&S).
  • Valid Australian A or C class driver license (HR license is a plus).
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-placement medical examination, including ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a National Police Clearance.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in conveyor maintenance on mine sites, including belt splicing and maintenance of belt scrapers and impact beds.
  • Mechanical trade qualifications.
  • Additional certifications such as Forklift License, Confined Space, EWP, Working at Heights, Dogman, or Rigger are advantageous.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive base salary plus superannuation and regional allowances, paid weekly:
    • Trade Hand/Level 1 Belt Splicer/Conveyor Technician – $40/hr
    • Level 3 Belt Splicer/Conveyor Technician – $45/hr
    • Conveyor Technician Leading Hand – $49/hr
