A highly skilled and experienced Chef is required to join our team in a dynamic kitchen environment. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary skills and creativity.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise culinary staff, including cooks and food preparation workers.
  • Inspect ingredients, raw food supplies and other materials to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Order required supplies and make requisitions for stock, frozen food items, beverages and other materials.
  • Inspect received products for quality, quantity and attributes.
  • Schedule food production and manage operations to optimize resource use.
  • Assist kitchen staff to ensure timely services.
  • Observe food preparation methods to ensure consistency.
  • Assign duties based on staff capacity and capabilities.
  • Inspect and maintain cooking appliances for cleanliness, functionality and usability.
  • Perform inventory duties, including stock rotation.
  • Work with management to assign prices to menu items.
  • Mentor employees, identify issues and provide solutions.
  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness, organization, storage and sanitation.
  • Ensure kitchen workers follow hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • Prepare food within established policies, portion control and pricing guidelines.
  • Manage relationships with distributors and resolve vendor issues promptly.
  • Follow established budget and ensure safety and sanitation practices.
  • Manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food to diners.
Requirements
  • Strong food knowledge and skills in authentic cuisine.
  • Relevant qualifications in cookery or hospitality.
  • At least 2 years' experience as a Chef in a similar role.
  • Experience in advanced marinades, masalas and curry pastes and sauces from scratch.
  • Experience preparing and cooking Indian breads.
  • Experience operating and maintaining traditional clay tandoor ovens.
  • Able to work with proteins like beef, mutton and pork.
  • Passion for great food and presentation.
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, food safety.
  • Experience in kitchen operations and managing a team.
  • Experience training kitchen staff.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Goods ordering and menu costing.
  • Stock control and wastage minimization.
