Establishing a leadership position in commercial management is an exciting opportunity to oversee the delivery of construction, maintenance and facilities management services.

The primary purpose of this role is to lead the commercial management of the program, overseeing the delivery of construction, maintenance and facilities management services across Sydney Water's southern region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team to best support the business in delivering design and construct projects and maintenance services
  • Negotiate, draft and execute subcontracts, deeds, agreements, leases, compound licenses and commercially related documents
  • Assess risks associated with head contracts and subcontracts
  • Manage disputes and resolve outcomes
  • Attend commercial workshops, seminars and meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure commercial alignment
  • Provide coaching and training to the team and delivery partners periodically
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including internal and external legal counsel

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, Law or other commercially relevant field with a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Commercial Manager
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience in a collaborative framework environment
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry standard forms of contract, including the NEC suite
  • Pre- and post-contract knowledge and experience
  • Competent in using different systems and software in business-as-usual operations
  • Experience managing and developing high-performance teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Desirable: Experience within the water/wastewater utility industry in a tier one environment
