About the Role

This part-time (0.6 FTE) 12-month contract is an exciting opportunity to join the Edith Cowan University team as a Work Health and Safety Administration Officer. As a key member of the People & Culture team, you will play a vital role in supporting the University's Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Wellbeing programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level administrative support to the WHS team, ECU staff, and stakeholders to enable and progress WHS & Wellbeing programs.
  • Manage purchasing and invoicing, maintain WHS documents and processes, organize meetings and events, coordinate training activities, and undertake WHS-related tasks and reports.
  • Work closely with the WHS team to develop and implement WHS policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to a collegial and fun team dynamic, demonstrating personal attributes that align with the University's values of Courage, Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence, and Courage.
Requirements
  • Diploma/Certificate level in business administration or a closely related field, or equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of training and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in administration and project support, including highly developed computer skills (Microsoft Office suite) and experience maintaining databases, mailboxes, and online resources.
  • Proven effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage conflicting demands.
  • Previous experience in the Higher Education or WHS industry is not required but desirable.
