Job Description

Role Summary

The Classroom Teacher position is a key role in the State Government of Victoria, Australia's education system. As a Classroom Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality educational programs to students in a Melbourne metropolitan area school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse student needs
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve teaching methods
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure a supportive learning environment
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date with curriculum changes

Requirements

  • Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
  • Qualifications and experience in teaching and/or curriculum area specified for the position
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
