Job Opportunity: Classroom Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Classroom Teacher to join our team at Melton South Primary School. As a Classroom Teacher, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality education to our students and contributing to the school's mission to create a safe and respectful environment that fosters a growth mindset in all stakeholders.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering programs to achieve specific student outcomes. You will engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve your knowledge and skills, and contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;
  • Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school;
  • Undertaking other classroom teaching-related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;
  • Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps, and excursions;
  • Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in responding to student learning needs;
  • Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values.
