Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Classroom Teacher to join our team at a Government School in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Science to students and contributing to the development of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Science to students and develop engaging lesson plans to promote student learning and achievement.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school.
  • Participate in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps, and excursions.
  • Undertake other classroom teaching-related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community.
